Important Policies
Please report any breaches to these policies to the Camp Director, Kristel Gallagher or the Recreation Director, Bruce DiBisceglie, immediately:
- Please get to know all of your camper’s group counselors. Introduce yourself the first day of camp. All staff will wear a photo day camp ID daily.
- A camper should never be alone with a staff member (being separate from his/her group, in full view of others is acceptable).
- Campers should not receive contact from a staff member outside of camp that is not pre-approved by you, his/her guardian. This includes letters, emails, telephone calls, text messages, online friendships, home visits, etc.
- Campers should never receive gifts of any kind, other than Camp Director approved rewards for camp-related activities, from staff members.
- Campers should never be transported in a staff member’s personal vehicle, unless pre-approved by you, his/her guardian. Please write a note and submit your approval for such transportation to the Camp Director, so he/she is aware that it is okay.
- Campers should have a camp experience free of hazing, bullying, or similar behaviors.
- Ask specific questions about your camper’s day to help encourage your camper to share the experiences that were wonderful and any behaviors or activities that may have made him/her feel uncomfortable.
- Some of our program activities will deem it necessary for some physical contact between staff and campers to provide necessary instruction, coaching, spotting, and in extreme cases, to help prevent injury.
- Staff is instructed not to carry, lift, hit, or physically or mentally threaten campers.
Drop off/Dismissal Procedures
- Please see the 2022 Family Welcome letter for new drop off procedures due to COVID,
- Please take it slowly when dropping off your children – on the first day of camp that your camper attends, please escort them to their group to meet the counselors working with your camper for the week.
- If you are dropping off your camper off late or picking him/her up early, please proceed to the Carriage House – a head staff member will escort your camper to his/her group or retrieve him/her from group activities.
- The two pre-approved non-guardians from the registration form will need to show ID during pick-up.
- No need to write a note if your child is being released to pre-approved non-approved guardian!
- All notes regarding changes in pre-approved dismissal procedures need to be delivered directly to the Carriage House.
- Make sure whoever picks up your camper walks up to the group counselor holding your camper’s group binder to ensure our campers are dismissed safely, rather than the child running to the parked car in the parking lot and no one knowing who is taking home your camper. This is to ensure all campers’ safety and wellbeing.
